Institut de recherches cliniques de Montréal (IRCM)

The Institut de recherches cliniques de Montréal (IRCM) is one of the leading research institutions in Canada, bringing together 33 research teams divided into five research themes. The institution is affiliated with Université de Montréal but is also associated with McGill University.

Every summer, IRCM hosts undergraduate students for Summer internships. This is a great opportunity for students to delve into scientific research for a 12-16 weeks summer internship.

IRCM also has a Scholarship Competition for Young Researchers, valued at $2000. The deadline to apply is January 13th, 2017. Visit their website for a list of participating research teams and the rules for this competition.

In addition, IRCM is now recruiting for their 2017-2018 Molecular and Cellular Medicine (MCM) Master’s program, which will start in May 2017. This innovative program, which is focused on translational research stemming from basic research, allows students to get their Master’s degree in one intensive year, before fast-tracking to Ph.D. During their training, students gain “hands-on” experience in our ultramodern core facilities and rotate through two laboratories of their choice to sample different research subjects. They can therefore choose their laboratory and research director for a Ph.D. based on their experience. Moreover, IRCM will give scholarship for financial support to all admitted candidate. The deadline for application is March 13, 2017. For more details on MCM program and the application process, contact us at mcm@ircm.qc.ca or visit the Molecular and cellular medicine webpage (www.ircm.qc.ca/mcm).
