Here are the FAQs regarding the SRI Award.

How do I apply to the SRI Award?

 

You must be a member of SRI to apply to the SRI award. Click the "BECOME A MEMBER" tab to become a member. Then click on the “Apply Now” tab and follow through with the application process.

Do I have to be a science student to apply?

 

No, you can be in any faculty as long as you are an undergraduate at McGill. Keep in mind the research opportunities we offer are science and arts-geared for the time being.

Do I need to contact the professors myself?

 

Yes, the SRI award requires students to find the supervisor of their choice who is willing to allow them to conduct research for the summer months and is ok with receiving funding from us. The supervisor will have to fill out the required fields on the application form and a signature is also required. 

What are my chances?

 

Chances depend on how many apply each year and how much funds we are able to raise throughtout the year.

What are the criteria?

I forgot to submit a document and the deadline has passed. Can I resend it?

 

No, the deadline is firm.

When will I hear back?

 

2 weeks after the application dealine

Deadline to apply?

 

This year's SRI award dealine is March 11th, 11:59PM.

Is it rolling basis?

 

No, we review all applications in random order after the deadline has passed.

Who’s reviewing the SRI applications?

 

The SRI Executives will be reviewing the applications (all of your information is confidential).
