Bioinformatics

A bioinformatician investigates research questions related to the fields of biology, medicine, health science using computation and information technology analysis tools. Typically, bioinformaticians can work in positions such as biostatisticians, biochemists, computational biologists, biophysicists, etc. A bioinformatician is required to have relevant knowledge in the fields of biology, medicine, health science and also abilities to perform analyses using computational languages.

 

Typically, a Ph.D. is required, although sometimes B.Sc. or M.Sc. in relevant fields is accepted for entry-level junior bioinformatician jobs. Examples of institutes that fall under this category include MacVectors, BIOBASE, and AstridBio.

For the purpose of this event, the interview will be conducted for an applicant who it at the undergraduate level.
